Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance on Wednesday apprehended the Junior Engineer of Begunia block in Khordha district while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 5000.
Junior Engineer Sanghamitra Sahoo had demanded the said amount from a contractor for facilitating release of his bills.
Acting on a complaint, vigilance sleuths had laid a trap and caught Sahoo red-handed. The entire bribe amount has been recovered from her and seized.
A case in this regard has been registered at Bhubaneswar Vigilance Police Station and further investigation against Sahoo is underway.
