Bhubaneswar: Health & Family Welfare Minister Naba Kisore Das on Saturday directed the Chief District Medical Officer (CDMO) of Rayagada district to immediately rush a team of experienced doctors to treat people afflicted with diarrhoea in Kashipur block of the district.
The Minister also directed the CDMO to take all steps and measures to contain the outbreak and submit a detailed report to the government within 72 hours.
At least six people have died due to due to suspected diarrhoea outbreak in tribal dominated Kashipur block of Rayagada district in the last three days.
The Odisha Assembly witnessed pandemonium over the issue today.
Speaker Bikram Keshari Arukha asked Parliamentary Affairs Minister Niranjan Pujari to make a statement in the Assembly on the issue on Monday.
