Bhubaneswar: More than 16,000 electric vehicles have been sold in Odisha after the EV Policy came into force on September 1, 2021. Since then, Odisha recorded the sale of 16,085 EVs (till July, 2022), said Commerce and Transport Minister Tukuni Sahu.
In a written reply to Jeypore MLA Tara Prasad Bahinipati in the Assembly today, Sahu stated that total 23,265 EVs have been issued across the State till July, 2022.
As many as 4,982 EVs have applied for subsidy on electric vehicles out of which 4,163 have avaied subsidy. Total subsidy of Rs 2,72,80,000 (Rs 2.72 crore) has been released in favour of EVs so far, she said.
In Odisha, there are 2,661 three-wheeler EVs, 20,285 two-wheeler EVs and 319 four-wheeler EVs, the Minister’s reply revealed.
