Bhubaneswar: Cuttack-Barabati MLA Mohammed Moquim has been served a show cause notice by the President of Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) for casting his vote to NDA’s President candidate Draupadi Murmu against the party’s decision.
Moquim has been accused of indiscipline and indulging in anti-party activities. OPCC Chief Sarat Pattanayak has asked the legislator to submit his reply in two weeks.
Acting against the party line, Moquim had voted in favour of Murmu, who is a tribal leader from Odisha, and had informed this to the media after casting his vote. He had said that as an Odia, he will feel proud if his vote will help Murmu to win the election.
