Rayagada: Health & Family Welfare Minister Naba Kisore Das while admitting nine deaths have occurred in Kashipur block of Rayagada district due to cholera assured that all steps will be taken to contain the disease and treat the afflicted.
Das said that there will be no dearth of medicines to treat people afflicted with cholera.
He informed that eight teams are touring different areas and a medical team headed by the Public Health Director is camping here.
While admitting that seven doctor posts are lying vacant in Kashipur CHC, the Minister stated that the Health Department will leave no stone unturned to contain the spread of the disease.
He said Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has always emphasized on improving health infrastructure and added that there is an outbreak of cholera and we have to tackle it.
He said that he will review what led to the outbreak.
