Bhubaneswar: A state-of-the-art cancer hospital will be established in the campus of National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER), Bhubaneswar, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said today.
Pradhan held a meeting in this regard with Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh, Bhubaneswar MP Aparajita Sarangi and senior officials of Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, and Department of Atomic Energy.
An amount of Rs 650 crore has been approved for the cancer hospital out of which Rs 250 crore is being contributed by Tata Trusts and the remainder Rs 400 crore is being contributed by the Department of Atomic Energy, Pradhan said.
A total of 17 acres of land has already been allotted for the construction of the hospital. The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship is also providing an additional 10 acres of land for the construction of the cancer hospital.
