Berhampur: Stemming from the MOU entered between Global Centre for Nuclear Energy Partnership (GCNEP), Department of Atomic Energy (DAE) and Vietnam Atomic Energy Institute (VINATOM) a fifteen member delegation from Vietnam visited the IREL (India) Limited for technical visit to IREL’s operations spanning Mining, Concentration, Mineral Processing, Rare Earth Extraction and Refining.
The two-day technical visit of the delegation started from July 25 with the Inaugural Function at OSCOM unit of IREL located in Ganjam.
Addressing the Session virtually, D Singh, Chairman & Managing Director, IREL reiterated his support towards promoting technological collaboration on Rare Earths, which is the present global need.
Earlier, in April 2022, IREL had carried out a five day virtual seminar wherein various topics details on the above processes along with process of formation of the deposits, regulatory norms in the Country, etc. were taught to the Vietnamese delegation guided by a battery of Executives from IREL.
Further, in the 1990s, a similar delegation visited IREL’s operations in RED, Aluva, Kerala to witness the Rare Earth extraction facilities. During the period, IREL on behalf of the Government of India had gifted a one ton batch Rare Earth Extraction Plant to the Government of Vietnam.
