Berhampur: An unwed mother K Deepika is on dharna for the last five days in front of her lover’s house at Desi Behera Sahi here.
Deepika of Ankuli area of the town had developed an affair with one Dinesh of Desi Behera Sahi in 2020-21. Later, Dinesh allegedly maintained physical relationship with Deepika and impregnated her. Subsequently, Deepika gave birth to a baby boy.
Following the birth of the child, Deepika asked Dinesh to marry her to which he did not agree. Deepika lodged a complaint with the police and Dinesh landed up in jail for a few days.
On getting news of Dinesh’s marriage being fixed with another woman, Deepika is on dharna in front of the former’s house for the last five days demanding her marriage with him.
From today social worker Pramila Tripathy has joined the dharna with Deepika in front of Dinesh’s house.
