Bhubaneswar: Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) Pradeep Kumar Jena has warned of high flood in Subarbarnarekha system following release of 3.5 lakh cusecs of flood water through 14 gates of Galudih barrage in Jharkhand at 8 PM today.
Jena has alerted the District Magistrates of Balasore and Mayurbhanj districts in this regard.
The SRC has informed through a tweet that 2 NDRF, 2 ODRAF and 8 Fire Services teams have been rushed to Balasore district.
Water level in Baitarani river is rising. It has crossed danger level of 38.36 metre and water at Anandpur is 38.79 metre at 10 PM, Jena said.
It may also cross the danger level at Akhuapada, he added.
He has asked the Collectors of Jajpur, Bhadrak and Keonjhar districts to remain prepared.
