Berhampur: The teacher who had entered another school in an inebriated condition and beat and injured several students at Dengaskhal village in Mohana block of Gajapati district on Thursday has been suspended.
District Education Officer (DEO) Prodosh Nayak suspended the teacher identified as Jagdishwar Behera of Ludiguda Upper Primary School under Guluba panchayat of the district.
Behera had entered the Govt U.G. High School, Dengaskhal on Thursday afternoon and attacked the students. When the teachers of the school rushed to the rescue of the students, Behera also attacked them.
Around 20 children were injured in the attack. The school headmaster Mohan Barua had filed a complaint against the drunk teacher at Adava Police Station. Police on Friday issued a notice of appearance to Behera.
