Bhubaneswar: A Plus II student of a private college here has reportedly gone missing.
The missing student has been identified as Hrudesh Panda. He was studying in a private college in Patia area.
According to reports, Hrudesh had called his father Ram Krushna Panda over the phone at 4 PM on Friday and had alleged that he was subjected to ragging and was called by the college chairman to his chamber and beaten up.
Again he had called up his father in the evening at around 7 PM and had told him that he had been thrown out of the college with his belongings by the college authorities and he was loitering on the road.
Ram Krushna works in Paradip Port after listening to his son reportedly told him to have patience and he would be reaching soon.
He reached in the morning from Paradip today but has been unable to trace his son.
He has alleged that the college’s chairman has remained incommunicado despite him making several phone calls.
Left with little or no option, Ram Krushna has lodged a complaint at the Chandrasekharpur police station in this connection.
On the basis of the complaint, Chandrasekharpur visited the college and launched an investigation into the allegation.
Ram Krushna has claimed that his son was a meritorious student and had secured 97% marks in class X board exams.
