Bhubaneswar: Saheednagar police and members of Team 60 today arrested three youths in front of Bhawani Mall who were allegedly planning to commit any crime or robbery in the Saheednagar market area.
Police have seized two country-made firearms, two magazines, seven rounds of 7.65 mm live ammunition, one motorcycle and a scooter from their possession, police said.
According to the police, the accused have been identified as Ranjan Kumar Nayak alias Ronnie (23) of Jharpada, Mukesh Sahoo (20) of Sabar Sahi and Arunajeet Naik (26) of Old Town.
Acting on reliable information, officers of Saheednagar police station and members of Team 60 today conducted a raid in front of Bhawani Mall in Saheednagar area and apprehended the three accused.
Police suspect the three might have planned to commit any crime or commit robbery in Saheednagar area.
Saheednagar Police have registered against the three youths under sections 341, 332, 353, 307, 294, 506 and 34 of IPC and sections 25 and 27 of the Arms Act.
Further interrogation of the accused persons and investigation is underway.
