Cuttack: No one actually jumped into Mahanadi at Mundali bridge on Monday night. It was a youth, identified as Raghuranjan Mahakud of Angul. His scooter allegedly encountered a problem while he was crossing the Mundali bridge following which he parked it on the bridge and left the spot.
According to Mahakud’s report with the police, he had gone to seek help for fixing the scooty. Anticipating that someone has jumped into the river, rescue personnel spend several hours to trace the ‘missing’ person.
According to reports, the incident was reportedly staged. Police is inquiring into the matter further.
