Keonjhar: Burglars broke into a house and injured three persons of a family before fleeing with cash, jewellery, and mobile phones. Such an incident has occurred at Barigaon under Ghasipura police limits of Keonjhar district.
Reportedly, the burglars had entered the house of one Golak Padhi on Thursday night by breaking open the door. After getting inside the house, they attacked the residents with iron rods and sharp weapons.
Golak, his wife Jayanti, and daughter Pritimayee were injured in the attack. After attacking them, the burglars fled with Rs 2.8 lakh in cash, gold jewellery and two mobile phones.
The injured family was rescued by neighbours and admitted to Anandpur Sub-Divisional Hospital. On getting information, police reached the spot and initiated a probe into the matter.
