Malkangiri: The Dharlibeda unit of BSF with the help of Malkangiri police organised a “Mass run” at Dharlibeda under Jodambo police station of Swabhiman Anchal in Malkangiri district.
The programme named “Run for Fun” was held between 8 AM to 9.30 AM today with an aim to attract the local children towards the Armed forces like Army, BSF and to create awareness for a healthy life.
The programme was dedicated to Teacher’s Day, to be observed on 5th September.
The event was divided into 3 categories with a distance of 2KMs, 3KMs & 5KMs and all the locals above the age of 7 years including school children of Jodambo gram panchayat were invited to participate.
About 500 locals including 300 school children took part in the event. Also, hundreds of spectators watched the event and encouraged the participants.
About 400 T-shirts were distributed to the school children and other participants on this occasion. Snacks and soft drink was provided to the participants.
The programme was attended by Sanjay Das, 2i/C of 9th Bn BSF, Chitrakonda; Ansuman Dwivedi, SDPO, Chitrakonda; Anil Parida, OIC, Chitrakonda; Kumari Rajeswari Khillo, Chairperson of Chitrakonda block; Pinky Hantal, Sarpanch of Jodambo gram panchayat; and Arjun Hantal, Sarpanch of Panasput gram panchayat.
The programme had a good impact on the morale of the local villagers and they formed a good impression about the police & armed forces.
