Cuttack: A team of the Directorate of Drugs Control (DDC) today raided pharmaceutical distributors in Manik Ghosh Bazaar area here for allegedly selling spurious medicine.
The team seized Telma 40 and Telma AM during the raid. These medicines are prescribed for patients suffering from hypertension and heart disease.
The DDC authorities have written letters for recall of these medicines despatched to seven places which include Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, and Balasore. Further instructions have been issued to stop the sale of these medicines.
A DDC official said that as of now medicines worth Rs 3 lakh have been seized.
He clarified that only searches have been conducted and samples will be sent to the concerned company for testing and then it can be ascertained whether these medicines are genuine or spurious.
