Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government is all set to start Integrated Temple Management System (ITMS) to facilitate online darshan for devotees in temples in the State on the lines of Karnataka and Tamilnadu.
Using the portal devotees will be able to perform puja, make offerings and order prasad online in temples connected to the ITMS in the State, informed Law Minister Jagannath Saraka today.
The decision was taken following two rounds of deliberations with concerned officials, Saraka added.
The Minister said that a web portal will be developed for the purpose while keeping in mind that sentiments associated with Hindu religion is not affected.
Devotees will be able to get information on different programmes being conducted at the various temples, opening and closing timings of the temples and on various services being offered in the temples by visiting the web portal, the Minister added.
Further, devotees willing to make donations to any temple can do so through the web portal. The temples will have their bank accounts in nationalised banks.
However, it has been decided that for online payments HDFC Bank will be the payment gateway.
