Balasore: A video showing the idol of Lord Jagannath being taken on a pick-up van loaded with clothes, and wooden material has gone viral on social media. Lord Jagannath devotees have expressed strong resentment over the matter.
The driver of the van placed the idol correctly after being asked by a social activist to do so. The matter has been reported from Haldipada on Balasore-Jaleswar Road. According to reports, the idol was part of Ganesh Puja celebrations and was shifted after the Puja was over.
The Tent House owner has apologised for the incident. On the other hand, the social worker said that the matter was disgraceful because of which he intervened. Stringent action should be initiated against those who hurt the sentiments of Jagannath devotees.
