Bhubaneswar: The student of a private ITI College at Tihidi in Bhadrak district, who had allegedly attempted suicide on September 9, died during treatment at SCB Medical College & Hospital in Cuttack on Sunday.
The deceased identified as Asutosh Mallick, a first-year Electrical student of Purna Chandra ITI College had consumed poison at home after returning from college on September 10.
He was first rushed to Tihidi Community Health Centre from where he was shifted to the Bhadrak District Headquarters Hospital and later referred to the SCB Medical College & Hospital in Cuttack.
His family alleged that Ashutosh had taken poison due to ragging in college. However, no response was received from the college authorities on the family’s complaint.
