Bhubaneswar: Two pharmaceutical distributors have been detained in Cuttack on Monday for selling spurious medicine, informed DCP Pinak Mishra.
Mishra said that Purighat Police had registered two separate FIRs based on a complaint from the Drugs Inspector after the agencies were found dealing with spurious samples of Telma 40 and Telma AM.
During the investigation, it was revealed that the proprietorship of the agencies was in the name of the wives of the accused persons identified as Rahul and Sanjay.
Police are presently interrogating the two and carrying out further investigations to identify other linkages and if they had procured any other drugs.
Notably, the Directorate of Drugs Control (DDC) during a raid on September 8 seized spurious samples of Telma 40 and Telma AM from the agencies. Raids have also been conducted at medicine stores in Bhubaneswar.
