Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate of Police have arrested a woman and her associate in connection with the murder of a youth at Narayani slum in Unit VIII area of the city.
The accused were identified as Ranju Nayak and her associate Kanha. They were booked on murder charges and remanded to judicial custody. DCP Prateek Singh said that the incident was an outcome of a rivalry between Ranju and the victim Subrat Rao.
Rao had opposed the illegal drug trade in the area which was being allegedly headed by the woman. She nursed a grudge against Rao and plotted his murder.
