Rayagada: In a tragic incident, a girl student studying in class 5 at the Upper Primary School in Bicchikot under Padmapur block died after the school gate collapsed on her today.
The deceased girl student has been identified as Ahuti Sabar.
According to reports, the school gate collapsed on them when Ahuti and some other students had gone to ease themselves at around noon today.
Ahuti was immediately rushed to the Government Hospital at Padmapur by 108 Ambulance service and was later shifted to Sub Divisional Hospital at Gunupur.
However, she passed away while undergoing treatment at the Sub Divisional Hospital at Gunupur.
Following the unfortunate incident, a pall of gloom descended on Bicchikot village.
