Cuttack: Yet again Purighat police here today seized 1350 strips of spurious Telma-40 drug from a transport agency.
According to a press note issued by the Cuttack DCP, Inspector In Charge (IIC) of Purighat police station during the investigation of the Cuttack spurious drug case, received information regarding storage of Telma-40 drug at Tridev Express Cargo at Mahatab Road which was procured by VR Agencies of Manikghosh Bazaar from Kolkata.
Acting on the information IIC Purighat placed requisition to Assistant Drug Controller, Cuttack Circle-I to accompany with police for verification of the medicines. The medicines were verified at the transport agency.
During verification by the Assistant Drug Controller and staff, it was found that the Telma-40 medicines available at the transport agency were spurious.
Police have seized 1350 strips of Telma-40 tablets having a face value of Rs 3 lakh from the transport agency.
Further investigation is underway, the press note added.
