Berhampur: Three students who had gone to the top of a hillock to attend their online class due to poor mobile connectivity in their village were injured after being struck by lightning on Wednesday.
Reportedly, three students identified as Dhiren Digal, Pinku Mallick, and Pancha Behera of Mundagaon village under Chakapada block of Kandhamal district had gone atop a nearby hill to attend their classes
As it started to rain, they took shelter under a tree. Suddenly they were struck by lightning. Following it, they lost consciousness. After one of them gained consciousness, he called his brother. On getting information, villagers rushed to the hill and rescued them.
The children were first admitted to Brahmanapad Community Health Centre and one of them was later shifted to the district headquarters hospital at Phulbani. All three students were reported to be out of danger.
