Cuttack: Acting on the instructions of the Health & Family Welfare Department, the SCB Medical College & Hospital (SCBMCH) in Cuttack has formed an internal team for crackdown on brokers diverting patients from government hospitals to private clinics and hospitals.
The team will oversee all departments of the medical college, especially where large number of patients visit. Actions will be taken against any brokers against whom complaints are received or who are observed with patients.
SCB’s administrative officer Abinash Rout said that if anyone falls into the hands of a broker, he should immediately file a complaint at the Superintendent’s office.
The Health & Family Welfare Department, in a letter issued to the Dean & Principal / Superintendent; all Government Medical College and Hospitals; the Director / Dean & Principal / Superintendent, VIMSAR, Burla; the Director/ Superintendent, PGIMER & Capital Hospital Bhubaneswar; and all CDM & PHOs, had instructed for strict monitoring and a necessary crackdown on brokers indulging in diverting patients to private clinics and hospitals in OPDs of Government Hospitals.
