Bhubaneswar: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has started its probe into the case of Archana Nag who has been arrested along with her husband, Jagabandhu Chand, by Khandagiri Police on chrages of extortion.
The ED has registered a case in this connection and sources said those having links with Nag are likely to be served notices. Bank statements of the accused will be verified.
The Commissionerate of Police has already provided FIR copies of two cases registered against Nag
She faces allegations of extorting money from rich and influential people in the state, including politicians, businessmen and film producers.
The couple allegedly amassed assets worth Rs 30 crore within four years by blackmailing influential people. The ED is likely to dig deep into the source of Nag’s income and reason behind the deposits, reports stated.
