Dhenkanal: The Divisional Forest Officer of Dhenkanal Prakash Chand Gogineni and a Foreter sustained injuries during patrolling in Sanakurumatanga forest in Kapilash Wildlife Sanctuary on Saturday.
The incident took place when Gogineni was on a visit to Kapilash Wildlife Sanctuary. He witnessed a stone-laden truck coming from the jungle and stopped it midway. When asked to produce documents, the occupants of the truck started pelting stones at the DFO’s vehicle.
Sadar police rushed to the spot and arrested six persons while they were attempting to flee. The DFO and his staff were moved to the district headquarters hospital. They have filed a police complaint in this regard.
