Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has set up a plan to control the rising menace of mosquitoes in Bhubaneswar by using drones to spray chemicals in inaccessible areas.
Municipal Commissioner Vijay Amruta Kulange said that BMC has planned to increase the number of vehicles engaged in carrying out fogging activity in the city. “Additional teams will be engaged for cutting bushes and intensify cleaning activities,” he said.
“We convened a special meeting to address the mosquito issue,” said Mayor Sulochana Das. “Like Calcutta Municipal Corporation we will identify the source of the mosquito breeding and use drones over those to spray chemicals,” she added.
