Bhubaneswar: R Balakrishnan, Chief Advisor, Chief Minister’s Office inaugurated the 15-day long International Sculptures’ Symposium at Kala Bhoomi, Bhubaneswar on 15th December 2022.
16 international artists from different countries and from within India will craft sculptures of 8 to 10 ft height for the 15 days up to 29th December which will be showcased in the prominent places in the capital city for its beautification during the FIH Hockey World Cup 2023.
Also present on the occasion were Suryawanshi Mayur Vikas, Additional Commissioner, BMC; Padma Shri Awardee and international sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik, President, Odisha Lalit Kala Akademi; Shyam Sundar Pattnaik, noted sculpture artist; Panchanan Samal, Secretary, Odisha Lalit Kala Akademi.
Sculpture artists from countries like USA, Italy, Korea, Egypt, France and from within the country and State are participating in the International Sculptures’ Symposium which is being organised by Lalit Kala Academy, Odia language, Literature & Culture Department, Bhubaneswar Development Authority and BMC.
The Symposium is part of the third edition of the Street Art and Murals Project (STAMP 3.0) in the state capital initiated by Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC). Under this project, artists of the state as well as of national and international repute, engaged by Odisha Lalit Kala Academy, will give a new look to the city’s walls with the Odisha’s street art and murals.
STAMP 3.0 will be a platform where Odisha’s art and culture will be showcased before the people visiting to Bhubaneswar from across the country as well as from different countries during the FIH Men’s Hockey World Cup.
