Sundargarh: Two youths have gone missing while bathing in river Ib at Kanakunda picnic spot in Sundargarh district today.
According to reports, three youths were swept away in river Ib while bathing at Kanakunda near Ghoghar under Talasara police station limits in Sundargarh district today.
The three youths identified as Satish Kumar Gupta, Chudamani Meher and Mukesh Meher had come to Kanakunda from Jharsuguda for having a picnic.
While Satish Kumar Gupta has been rescued, Chudamani Meher and Mukesh Meher remain missing. Fire Service personnel of Balisankara Fire Station and locals have launched a search operation to trace and rescue the missing youths.
It is pertinent to mention here that on December 18 last, a youth from Sector 15 area of Rourkela had gone missing after falling into the river at Kanakunda when his feet slipped while taking a selfie. The youth’s body was fished out after nearly 40 hours of him going missing.
