Bhubaneswar: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) today submitted the chargesheet in the Archana Nag case before the Khurdha District and Sessions court. The chargesheet, of more than 2000 pages names Nag, her husband Jagabandhu Chand, and business associates Khageswar Patra and Shradhanjali Behera.
Hours after submitting charge-sheet, the ED today attached Nag’s bunglow. According to the ED’s valuation, the house located at Satya Vihar area was estimated at Rs 3.40 crore.
Earlier, the ED had taken Nag and her husband on remand to probe into their financial gains and sources of income, allegedly pertaining to blackmail and extortion. The ED had also questioned several high-profile people in this case.
Nag and Chand were accused of blackmailing the ‘elite’ and making a fortune. The ED had arrested Archana for allegedly amassing wealth by honey-trapping prominent personalities. Nag, Chand and others have been booked under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).
