Rourkela: After visiting several states across the country, the FIH Odisha Hockey Men’s World Cup Bhubaneswar – Rourkela Trophy Tour reached the city of Rourkela, Odisha, on Thursday. It received a warm welcome with an incredible Odissi dance performance by 250 school and college students on the Brahmani Bridge.
The students’ performance was a fitting tribute to the tournament and a great way to showcase the talent and passion of the young people in Rourkela. It was a truly memorable event that brought together the community celebrating the beauty of Odissi dance and the excitement of hockey. It showed the love of the people for the sports and culture. The Brahmani Bridge, which spans the Brahmani River, provided the perfect backdrop for the performance.
Organized by the International Hockey Federation (FIH), the trophy tour is designed to give fans a chance to see the prestigious trophy up close and take pictures with it. The tour began in the city with an Alati at Vedvyas Temple.
The trophy will be paraded through various landmarks and locations in Rourkela, including Vedvyas Chowk, TCI Chowk, Dandiapalli, Gandhi Chowk, Deogan, Hockey Chowk, RCCI, ABM Hospital Chowk, Gurudwar, Hanuman Vatika, RMC Office, Ambedkar Chowk, Daily Market, Madhusudan Chowk, Bisra Chowk, Bondamunda, Homeopathic College, OSAP, NIT, Jhirpani Church, and Koelnagar Kalyan Mandap before finishing at the Birsa Munda Hockey Stadium at 11 pm.
