Baripada: Mortal remains of martyred BSF Sub Inspector Sasanka Sekhar Nath was consigned to flames at the Darogadahi crematorium here today.
The martyred soldier was given a guard of honour before his son lighted the funeral pyre.
Several marched in the funeral procession to pay their tributes to the fallen soldier.
Nath, a native of Ward no. 11 died after suffering a heart attack while in line of duty in Srinagar on Wednesday evening. He was posted as Platoon Commander at Poonch under Rajouri range of Srinagar.
Reportedly, Nath suffered the heart attack after speaking to his family here at 7 PM on Wednesday. He had a long innings in the BSF.
