Nayagarh: Two labourers were crushed to death under rice-packed sacks when a pile of sacks fell on them at a rice mill in Odagaon area in Nayagarh district of Odisha on Monday.
The victims have been identified as Rameshwar Dihudi of Tirisinga area in Ganjam district and Pramod Maharana of Badamba area. The two workers were reportedly checking the rice stocks at Maa Mangala Rice Mill warehouse when the mishap occurred on Monday morning.
The two were rescued in critical condition and rushed to the Odagaon Community Health Centre where the doctors declared them ‘brought dead’.
Family members of the deceased reached the hospital after being informed about the tragic incident.
Police have seized the bodies and sent them for post-mortem. They have started an investigation into the incident.
