Bhubaneswar: The All Odisha Private Bus Owners’ Association (AOPBOA) today announced to put on hold its earlier announced strike call from tomorrow.
The AOPBOA decided to suspend its strike call after the State government agreed to fulfil some of its demands.
“We had submitted a 10-point charter of demands to the State government. Secretary Usha Padhee today held a discussion with us. She has fulfilled 3 of our demands. She sought three months’ time to take a call on the other 7 demands. Taking that into consideration we decided in our General Body meeting to put the strike on hold till March 31,” informed AOPBOA Secretary Debendra Sahu.
Sahu said that the AOPBOA is hopeful the state government will fulfil its demands within March 31st otherwise it will be left with no option but to go on strike.
He informed that the government has agreed to withdraw the vehicle scrapping policy for the time being.
