Traffic Constable Rescues Woman Attempting Suicide In Cuttack

Bhubaneswar: Alertness and presence of mind of a traffic constable on duty in the busy Madhupatna area of Cuttack saved the life of a woman and her child today afternoon.

According to reports, at around 2 PM, traffic constable Tapan Kumar Das who was on duty in Madhupatna area spotted a woman attempting to jump down from Madhupatna bridge in an alleged bid to commit suicide.

Das using his presence of mind cleverly engaged the woman in a conversation and tactfully pulled her off the railing of the bridge. Thus saving the life of the woman and her kid.

The rescued woman has been detained by the police. She is a native of Tigiria area. Family disturbance is suspected to the reason behind her suicide attempt.
