Bargarh: The police here Arrested the owner of a drug store in Bargarh late Wednesday night on charges of selling fake medicines. An FIR has been registered at the Town police station on the basis of a complaint from the Bargarh Drugs Inspector in this connection.
According to sources, Sunil Agarwal, the owner of Bargarh Ashok Medical Hall here has been arrested under Sections 274, 275, 276, 420, 467, 468, 471,120B, 336, 483, 486 and 34 of IPC. Besides, Agarwal along with three drug suppliers of Varanasi – Baby Enterprises, JP Medicals and Guru Kripa Medical – have been accused of the sale, supply and distribution of spurious drugs in Odisha.
Meanwhile, when contacted, investigating officer Archana Chhotray said, “The Drug Inspector has provided us with a lot of information in the case. Based on that information, police have registered a case and arrested Agarwal.” Chhotray informed that further investigation is underway and action will be taken against everyone involved in the supply and sale of spurious drugs in the region.”
