Ganjam: The carcass of a tusker was found in the north Ghumusar forest Tarasinghi forest area of Ganjam district. Locals detected the elephant carcass near Manpur village on Thursday morning.
Forest department personnel reached the spot upon being informed and started an investigation. The Forest department is yet to ascertain the cause of the animal’s death but presumes that it might have died Wednesday night.
