Bhubaneswar: The vice chairperson of Bonai Block in Sundergarh district was rescued from Kandhamal district on Friday. Tikayatpali police which had launched a search for the Block VC, Binati Behera brought her back to Bonai.
A contractor who was present at the spot of rescue is being questioned by the police. However, the kidnapping angle in the case has not been established yet. The police is verifying whether Behera had gone on her own or by force.
Behera’s husband had lodged a complaint with Tikayatpali police stating that her wife has been kidnapped. Following this, the police registered an FIR on Thursday and launched a search for the woman.
