Bhubaneswar: In a shocking incident, a couple committed suicide by hanging from the ceiling of their house at Bhadigaon under Bhatli block in Bargarh district on Friday night.
The deceased couple has been identified as Raghu Bhue (51) and his wife Pratistha Bhue (47).
The police recovered the body and sent them for post-mortem after registering an unnatural death case. However, the precise reason why the couple took such a drastic step is yet to be ascertained.
Sources said that the neighbours of the couple first saw the bodies hanging from the ceiling of their house and informed the police about the incident. The police have started an investigation into the matter.
Incidentally, the couple’s only daughter, Sasmita Bhuy, 22, was reportedly murdered on December 2, 2022.
