Jharsuguda: Two teams of the state Crime Branch visited Jharsuguda on Tuesday for further investigation into the murder of Odisha Health Minister Naba Kishore Das on Sunday while he was on a visit to the town.
One team of the Crime Branch visited the crime scene at Gandhi Chhak here, while another team left for the accused’s elder brother’s house. The Crime Branch officials questioned Gopal Das’ elder brother and his wife about the accused mental health issues.
The Crime Branch will also interrogate Gopal Das’ wife Jayanti Das who told the media that her husband was suffering from mental issues. It has been learned that Jayanti has left Gopal Das’ official residence for some undisclosed destination.
A scientific team also visited the area to capture 3D images of the crime scene.
Meanwhile, the Crime Branch, which has been entrusted with the probe into the case, produced Gopal Das, in the JMFC Residential Court here on Monday and applied for a seven-day remand on Sunday. However, the appeal was stayed by the JMFC court and the accused was sent to Jharsuguda jail.
Another application for the remand of the accused was filed on Tuesday, according to the public prosecutor Harishan Agarwal.
