Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate of Police have arrested four women in connection with the assault on a young girl after tying her to a pole. The arrested persons have been identified as Rasmita Patra (38), Manjulata Barik (45), Jamini Pradhan (30), and Laxmi Singh (30).
The incident took place at Jagannath Colony under Mancheswar police limits. According to reports, the girl had gone to the area to meet her male friend and these women had objection to it.
The police took suo moto cognizance of the matter and launched a probe into the incident as the video of the assault went viral. A police team visited the colony and questioned the girl and her family members and registered a case against five persons.
