Satapada (Puri): Over 100 passengers were stranded after a ferry boat vessel got stuck in Chilika Lake near Satapada in the Puri district on Sunday morning. The problem has been attributed to a technical glitch.
The incident took place in Janhikuda-Satapada under Krushnapada block in the Puri district of Odisha. The vessel was heading from Satapada to Janhikuda when it got stuck after travelling just one kilometre from the shore.
According to reports, the ferry boat vessel was carrying above 100 passengers along with two buses and 10 bikes.
According to reports, the ferry boat along with the passengers was going from Satapada to Janhikuda ghat on Sunday morning when it got stranded in Chilika Lake.
On being informed, Chilika Development Authority (CDA) officials went to the spot and undertook the repairing work of the ferry boat and got it moving with the help of an excavator.
