Bhubaneswar: One person was killed and 11 sustained varying degrees of injuries in a road accident on the National Highway Number 20 in Odisha’s Keonjhar district on Sunday. The condition of the three injured is said to be critical.
According to reports, the accident occurred when a car collided head-on with a motorbike on the highway. Both vehicles were moving at high speed. The driver of the ill-fated car lost control of the wheels and turned turtle. The speeding motorbike hit the car and skidded off the road.
Local residents rescued the bike rider and admitted him to Saikukul Community Healthcare Center, where the doctor declared him brought dead. The deceased youth has been identified as Subrat Raut of Ujuni village under Ramchandrapur police station limits.
On being informed, the Ramchandrapur police reached the spot and seized the car and bike and launched an investigation into the case.
