Sundergarh: A scooter rider was fined Rs 1,000 for not wearing a seat belt while on the road. The matter has been reported from Rajgangpur area of the district where one Abhishek Kar received a message on his mobile phone about the penalty.
A private firm employee, Kar was taken aback by the weird traffic violation, meant for four-wheelers. More interestingly, the violation has taken place when the vehicle was in Jharsuguda, which is more surprising, said Kar.
He added that he has spoken to Jharsuguda MVI on this matter and apprised Union Minister Nitin Gadkari about the matter. Kar has been asked to pay the fine within one week.
