Koraput: Koraput police have rescued a driver Abdul Mann, who was allegedly kidnapped by miscreants on Friday evening. The police have arrested five persons in this connection.
The accused persons have been identified as Manoj Khosla, Pintu Khora, Anil Takri, Hina Praveen and John Mohammad.
Police have recovered six mobile phones and Rs 23,000 in cash from the possession of the accused persons.
According to reports, Abdul Mann, a driver hailing from Umeda village under Dedoli police limits of Uttar Pradesh was allegedly kidnapped by some miscreants on February 17.
After a few hours of Mann’s abduction, his abductors thrashed him and demanded a ransom of Rs 25 lakh for his release.
Acting on reliable inputs, a police team led by Koraput SDPO raided an under-construction office building of the Tourism Department and rescued Mann on Monday.
