Rayagada: A man allegedly killed his wife by slitting her throat following a spat between in Khadikajodi village of Sankarada panchayat under Kashipur block in Rayagada district today.
According to reports, few days back Sambad Majhi of Toyaput village had a quarrel with his wife Sunita over some issue and the latter was staying at her parents place in Khadikajodi village. Sambad was on a visit to his in-laws place in Khadikajodi village to get back Sunita to their house.
Sambad had arguments with Sunita which got heated and in a fit of rage the former slit the latter’s throat.
After murdering his wife, Sambad returned to his village Toyaput and on losing mental balance attempted to commit suicide by slitting his throat.
He was rescued by fellow villagers in a critical condition who rushed him to the district headquarters hospital here using the 108 Ambulance Service.
On being informed Rayagada Town police have launched an investigation in the matter.
