Bhubaneswar: Vigilance cases have been registered against 5055 government officers and employees in the last 10 years (from January 1, 2013 to December 31, 2022).
This was informed by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik in reply to a question by BJP member Mohan Majhi in the Odisha Assembly today.
Disproportionate assets worth Rs 915,27,98,562 has been seized from them, Patnaik added.
The Chief Minister further informed that out of the government officers and employees against whom Vigilance cases have been instituted, 684 are class-I officers, 559 are class-II officers, 3,248 are class-III employees, 93 are class IV employees and 471 are other public servants.
Out of them 227 are police personnel and 122 have been convicted which is 46.56 percent, he added.
The CM said that pensions of 3 have been stopped and 140 have been acquitted.
As many as 1700 cases against 2115 are under trial and 4 cases have been quashed, he added.
