Sambalpur: Four Fire Service personnel sustained varying degrees of burn injuries after an LPG cylinder blast near Chownagarpur Bazar under Burla police station in Odisha’s Sambalpur district on Wednesday. The fire service personnel were injured in the gas cylinder blast during a firefighting operation.
On receiving information that a fire broke out in a tea shop, the firefighters reached the spot and were trying to douse the flame when the tragic incident took place.
Among the four injured Fire Service personnel, the condition of two is said to be critical and they have been shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack while the other two are undergoing treatment at Burla Medical College and Hospital in Sambalpur.
Police arrived at the spot and started an investigation.
