Sundargarh: Panic prevailed in Gelebahal village under Badgaon Forest Range in Odisha’s Sundargarh district on Wednesday early morning when some villagers saw a leopard on the agricultural field adjoining their village.
As the news spread, a large number of people gathered on the periphery of their village with sticks and started shouting to scare the big cat away. Taken aback by the shouting and such a large assembly of villagers, the leopard reportedly fled the spot and took shelter in a nearby forest.
On being informed, Forest department officials reached the village and are keeping a vigil on the movements of the animal.
